Mridu has an extensive background in both bioengineering and electrical engineering; as well as training in clinical implementation science with industry experience in medical devices. Melio was brought about through her PhD thesis work, which was named ‘Best PhD Thesis’ by UCSD. Mridu also developed a newborn screening web tool, currently being used in California hospitals.
CLAUDE BENCHIMOL, PHD

Claude has over 40 years of experience in life-saving medical technology development. He has held senior executive roles at GE and Life Technologies, with expertise in medical technology innovation and commercialization. Claude led the development of over 70 FDA-approved products involving CT, MRI, and ultrasound scanner technologies; as well as digital mammography technology and life science genomics devices and reagents.
TODD PETERSON, PHD

Todd has over 35 years of experience in leadership roles in the biotechnology and life science research and development industries. He has worked in the areas of molecular and cell biology, as well as genomics product and technology development. Todd was a former CSO at the Allen Institute and CTO at Synthetic Genomics, Inc.

Luc is an innovation-driven inventor with 72 issued US patents. He is a leader in microfluidics and microfabrication technology with a record of multiple commercially successful projects.

Clare is a seasoned molecular biologist, with over ten years of expertise, actively engaged in the advancement of diagnostic assays and technology transfer in diverse roles. She is experienced in IVD verification, analytical validation studies and technology transfer into clinical settings.
RACHIT SHRIVASTAVA, PHD
RACHIT SHRIVASTAVA, PHDSystems Engineering Lead
Rachit has vast expertise at the intersection of single molecule chemistry and systems engineering. He has a Master’s degree in Mathematics, is completing a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and received hands-on training at Becton, Dickinson and Company.

Jamie is a microbiologist with over 30 years of experience developing IVD products used for clinical lab testing, from concept to commercialization. She is also an expert in bacterial and fungal identification for clinical isolates.

Dan has over 30 years of experience at Beckman Coulter, working as a microbiologist developing instruments and consumables for clinical laboratory testing.
MARIE PICHENOT, MD
MARIE PICHENOT, MDClinical Development Lead
Marie is an experienced physician with expertise in Infectious Diseases in both academic and general hospitals (University of Lille, France), holding a Master’s degree in Microbiology. Most recently, she steered the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, the COVID task force and the Infectious Diseases unit as the Chief of the ID team at a 1300-beds hospital.

Joan is a Biotechnology graduate student currently pursuing his MSc in Bioengineering at Denmark Technical University. With a passion for diagnostics, he has received training in assay development and digital PCR in Ireland.
STEPHANIE FRALEY, PHD

Stephanie is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at UCSD. She is currently researching device physics, imaging, and modeling to enable novel detection capabilities that enhance the diagnosis and study of disease processes, namely infections and cancer.
SHELLEY LAWRENCE, MD, MS
SHELLEY LAWRENCE, MD, MSScientific Co-Founder
Shelley is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and a practicing neonatologist in the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Primary Children’s Medical Center. She has 15 years of experience in neonatal-perinatal medicine in both private practice and academic hospitals.
